The Position
As a member of the Fixed Income leadership team, the business manager will be responsible for managing and enhancing the Fixed Income infrastructure and operational platform as well as leading key strategic projects in support of Fixed income investors and investment strategies. The business manager will work closely with members of the Fixed Income leadership team, others in Fixed Income and global functions across the firm.

Specific responsibilities will include:

Business Processes:
•Ownership of Business Continuity Planning, including identification of needs as well as coordinating off-site testing
•Supporting the coordination of the investment supervisory/oversight and internal review processes
•Coordinating various business related trainings and follow up, e.g., Code of Ethics, presentation skills, compliance, etc.
•Updating trading authority within relevant systems
•Maintaining and updating RFP and business practice responses for the Fixed Income group
•Participating in identifying, prioritizing and budgeting for systems initiatives
•Partnering with HR on various activities, such as headcount tracking, Central Manager proxy, Global Mobility, resource planning
•Assisting in on-boarding, training and integration of new employees, including employee tools and IT (Bloomberg, research services, etc)
•Monthly budget review and annual budget presentation
•Planning for mid year and year end and coordinating the annual feedback and performance process
•Coordinating weekly leadership meetings, including agenda and follow-ups
•Coordinating annual priorities/business plans by investment team

Infrastructure
•Representing fixed income on cross-functional committees and working groups requiring input and integration with Fixed Income
•Identifying potential areas for improved efficiencies within the FI support structure, utilizing systems, communication or improved workflow
•Supporting the continued globalization of our investment platform, specifically with respect to systems, reporting, and enabling collaboration
•Managing Fixed Income's participation in LAUNCH and in the firm's undergraduate and graduate internship programs
•Determining Fixed Income's Research Services needs and coordinating interactions with the group
•Expense approvals
•Updating of organizational charts
•Coordinating space planning and moves within the department
•Managing the Boston-based FI Assistant team, evaluate long-term options for managing the team and recommending a new model.
•Establishing and enhancing robust set of ongoing reports to track progress and trends across fixed income in areas such as clients, revenues, performance, risk, and attribution.

Projects:
•Completing various analytical projects which may involve working directly with investment teams and others across the firm. Projects may include performance attribution, trading and holdings analyses, department metrics, and business reports for investment teams
•Coordinating and developing customized presentations
•Ongoing oversight and enhancement of the FI Morning Meeting
•Other key projects as identified by the team such as establishing a consistent talent evaluation framework across fixed income, improving management of non-standard guidelines

This position reports to the Co-Director of Fixed Income.
