Position Description:

Wellington Management is one of the world's premier investment management organisations. We are a global, privately owned firm that is 100% focused on managing money for institutional investors and mutual fund sponsors. We are headquartered in Boston with ten affiliate offices in the United States and around the world.

We have a diversified, balanced, and growing business. Our clients are based in over 40 countries - more than one third of them are domiciled outside the US - and in total they have entrusted us to manage over US$700 billion of their assets. On their behalf we manage portfolios focusing on equity, fixed income, currencies, commodities, real assets, and active asset allocation, including hedge fund portfolios.

The Global Bond team consists of 36 investment professionals, currently located between Boston and London. The team manages c$60 billion in assets on behalf of over 250 clients in 33 countries. The team's book of business has grown meaningfully over the last five years, and the prospects for future growth are promising.

The growth in client mandates, the importance of appropriately managing the allocation of investors' time, and the success of the global fixed income platform have created an immediate need for an additional client-facing professional to join this team.

We are therefore seeking an experienced Client Portfolio Manager. Based in London, this individual will be a member of the Global Bond team and will work with clients, prospects and consultants globally, to effectively represent the team's portfolios, positioning and views. In addition, he/she will leverage their understanding of clients' needs and issues to support the team in developing and managing portfolios consistent with client expectations.

* Leveraging deep understanding of clients' needs and issues to actively contribute to discussions on the customization of mandates and new product development initiatives;
* Making measurable contributions to the long-term, sustainable and strategic growth of the fixed income business:

Success in this role requires global fixed income market experience, interest and enthusiasm for capital markets, deep investment knowledge, strong verbal and written communication skills, and outstanding teamwork capabilities. The CPM will need to work cross-functionally and successfully with colleagues across the firm, and especially closely with professionals in Fixed Income Product Management (FIPM) and the Global Relationship Group (GRG).

The ideal candidate for this position is therefore likely to:

* Have at least ten years of relevant professional experience in global fixed income markets;
* Demonstrate strong relationship skills, and experience in client settings as an investor proxy;
* Have significant experience of, and passion for, global fixed income markets, coupled with knowledge of risk and portfolio management techniques;
* Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a global team;
* Have a strong academic background, ideally including a relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA charter). European language skills would be an advantage;
* Be willing/able to travel extensively.

Please note that we are only able to respond to successful applicants.
