We invite candidates for the following position:
The Job
- Demonstrate independent, creative, and strategic thought on investment issues and generate credit recommendations
- Analyze and make investment recommendations for global sovereign and corporate in the investment grade space
- Monitor and analyze economic and market data, industry trends, issuer credit quality and security characteristics to support investment decisions
- Actively participate with portfolio managers and traders in strategy sessions that address credit trends, local interest rate and FX trends, investment decisions and asset allocation
- Identify and communicate trends and investment opportunities that improve portfolio returns and reduce risk
- Develop relationships with sell-side analysts, industry experts and other external sources to support research efforts
- Prepare research reports to support investment recommendations and rationale
The Person
- A minimum of three years credit research or related experience
- Good academic background including a bachelor degree in mathematics, finance, accounting, economics or related fields; CFA (or working towards it) preferred
- Experience in investment grade research and making relative value recommendations is highly relevant
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with strong knowledge of Excel/Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong work ethic; motivated and determined to make recommendations that drive strong portfolio performance
- Sound judgment, generation of original thought and conviction of ideas toward strong investment performance is essential
- Ability to work independently while embracing and promoting team concept and positively contributing towards a culture of collaboration
- Previous buy-side or insurance experience a plus
- Fluent in English and preferably Cantonese and/or Mandarin
