In North America we have offices in Boston, Chicago, New Jersey, New York, and Toronto. We have an excellent opportunity for a Fixed Income Dealer – US Credit in our New York office. Individual will evaluate the requested orders, execute them and report on these transactions and broker activities. In addition, this person will be responsible for overseeing the efficiency of the dealing desk in order to service and professionally and creatively support the Asset Managers for best execution.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Execute the sell and buy orders of all the Asset Managers taking into consideration possible time or price limits, while simultaneously respecting BNP methodology and to provide feedback on the execution of the orders to insure efficiency and best prices.
• Evaluate the risk and feasibility of the requested orders, to perform, when necessary, an additional pre- or post trade analysis based on information from MDS, software vendors or brokers and to take the necessary measures limiting the risks for clients and to guard against legal and compliance issues.
• Follow up on the transactions and the broker activities and to report monthly on commissions, compliance issues, quality of brokers, quality of settlement processes, turnover by broker or by category towards Asset Managers, M/O, brokers in order to evaluate the dealing desk activities and the involved parties.
• Support the relationships with the brokers and inform the Asset Managers about the market and potential opportunities.
• Leverage market knowledge and counterparty contact to improve performance and influence outcomes.
• Use and optimize trading technology and strategies to improve trading performance.
Ideal Personal Profile:
• Minimum of four years experience with solid knowledge of trading in US credit.
• Specific experience in the following instruments is desirable: cash products including Investment Grade and High Yield bonds.
• Extensive experience using Latent Zero (Minerva) the dealing desks OMS.
• Proven track record of building, cultivating and maintaining internal and external client relationships.
• Detail-oriented, energetic and industrious self-motivated team player who works well under pressure and has strong time management skills.
• Strong problem solving skills and desire to maximize efficiencies.
• Proven technical and analytical skills, including pricing of financial instruments and trading technology.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Consummate professional who is proactive, shows initiative, and is able to work unsupervised when necessary.
• An individual of unquestionable integrity who would be an excellent representative of the firm on both a personal and professional basis.
Academic Background and Experience:
• A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or Math.
• Advanced computer skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
