Fixed Income Multi-Sector Portfolio Manager recruitment
The Financial Institutions Group (FIG)fixed income team offers an array of products designed to meet specific bank and insurance client risk and return profiles. Incorporating the expertise of BlackRock's sector specialists and research analysts, each client portfolio is tailored to reflect specific investment guidelines and objectives with respect to interest rate exposure, sector allocation and credit quality.
BlackRock is searching for an experienced Fixed Income Multi-Sector Portfolio Manager to join the Financial Institutions Portfolio Management Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing mutli-sector insurance and bank portfolios across multiple strategies and investment objectives as part of a team. The candidate will also be asked to generate investment ideas, develop and implement strategies, and will be required to engage with clients and consultants, assist in capability development and enhancement, liaise with our larger teams across the globe, and meaningfully contribute to the overall investment process.
Responsibilities:
- Act in a lead portfolio management capacity for assigned portfolios
- Generate alpha consistent with client mandates and group's expectations
- Formulate investment ideas in support of the teams investment strategy process
- Conduct client meetings and portfolio reviews
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with our client group
- Assist in other assignments that support the teams development
- Contribute to the ongoing development of the groups junior portfolio managers
Skills Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree mandatory; additional education a plus
- 7 to 10 years of experience in managing fixed income multi-sector portfolios
- Experience in managing constrained, on balance sheet assets for financial institutions welcome
- Established strong performance track record where as a lead portfolio manager
- Strong understanding of relative value and fundamental analysis
- The ideal candidate's experience will be primarily in long only investing with an emphasis on cash bonds; experience with derivative products a plus
- Candidate must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong relationships
- Team player coupled with a sense of ownership and accountability
- Conscientious with a strong focus on attention to detail
- Comfort with technology based investment platforms
- Proficient in Excel, Bloomberg and other financial market software
