Fixed Income Operations Manager recruitment

Principal Accountabilities

Manage relationships with internal and external business partners and act as an advocate for Fixed Income throughout the organization
Participate in new account overviews and compliance sessions with investment team
Ensure all benchmark and portfolio manager changes are communicated and implemented
Work closely with Institutional Portfolio Management to assist with client inquiries, new products, potential new clients industry changes
Oversee multiple project plans in various stages of life cycles and drive work efforts to a successful outcome
Provide daily operational support to the Fixed Income UK Bond Investment Management team

Assist in the identification and escalation of issues and follow through on their resolution
Coordinate fund warning notification process for Fixed Income UK bond desk, alert PMs of all cash flows requests, monitor fund warning system proactively monitor cash inflows/outflows
Identify and report overdrafts and ensure trades are executed to cover
Verify shareholder flows are processed accordingly
Investigate unexpected cash and shareholder issues
Process Portfolio Manager instructed re balances via cash allocation tool
Ensure that all portfolio management systems views are accurate
Coordinate voluntary corporate action and proxy process by reporting new actions to Research Analysts, Portfolio Managers Trading and ensuring recommendations are provided timely responses are recorded within the system
Review/report daily corporate action/call notifications (SUBAs)
Review advise regarding morning exception reporting for large asset movements, missing analytics, fund activity
Assist investment team with ad hoc requests

Coordinate with technology on data files and follow up on system requests
Participate in the new client implementations, in-kind contributions/redemption's including calculating pro-rata slices, and terminations from an investment operations' perspective with Portfolio Management and Trading
Provide daily and backup operational support to the Fixed Income UK Trading Desk

Assist in the identification and escalation of trading issues
Assist manager in requirements and completion of trading related initiatives and projects
Coordinate and complete DR/Business Continuity requirements for Fixed Income UK
Ensure all Trading Oversight reporting and requirements are completed for UK Trading

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Ideally educated to degree level
Strong track record in Investment Operations. This is a senior position, but it is essential this individual still has a full hands on approach to support management.
Demonstrable experience of supporting Portfolio Managers.
Knowledge of institutional mutual investment management business
Knowledge of fixed-income investment process would be an advantage.
