Fixed Income Operations Specialist

Fixed Income Operations Specialist with a leading global financial services firm that provides investment management, banking and wealth management services based in the Docklands.

As the Fixed Income Operations Specialist working for one of the largest global asset management firms that has over $340bn AUM, is continually growing and has long-term innovative business strategies. You will be joining a small highly skilled, technical and close-knit team where you will operate in a cross functional role across middle office.

You will be the go-to for all technical fixed income related queries and ensure that there is seamless service for portfolio managers and clients across a large number of strategic FI mandates. Furthermore you will be responsible for the management and oversight of front to back processes including those conducted by the outsourced solutions provider.

Your other duties will include but is not limited to:

-Taking total ownership for the operational support for all strategic fixed income mandates.

-Foster and build relationships with technical and sophisticated clients.

-Communicate with clients directly to deliver first class level of service, effectively and efficiently resolve queries and manage expectations with daily activities related to Fixed Income.

- Answer technical Fixed Income queries from Clients/ Traders/ Fund Managers regarding performance, duration, spreads, hedging etc.

-Oversight of accurate and timely Fixed Income client reporting (external internal).

-Ensure all manage changes and trading activity are relayed to relevant parties (internal teams clients).

-Constantly assess front to back operational workflows and ensure all activities are in order according to targets.

-Ensuring all procedural documentation is correct and up to date.

-Partner with the outsourced solutions provider to ensure agreed SLAs/ KPIs are met.

-Involvement in local and global project work, partner with internal counter-parties, provide recommendations in relation to business goals and projects e.g. portfolio restructuring.

-Drive forward enhancements with current reporting for clients and ensure greater efficiency and data accuracy.

To qualify for the role you MUST have:

-Degree or overseas equivalent within a technical discipline (Economics/ Finance/ Maths/ Physics)

-Detailed and robust Fixed Income/ Derivatives knowledge; the processes by which they function and their characteristics (this role is not for someone looking to learn about Fixed Income).

-Worked in a similar technical servicing role as a Fixed Income/ Derivatives Specialist or Fixed Income Client Services within an Investment Management firm.

-Highly competent in discussing and communicating Fixed Income updates/ technical information to internal counter-parties and clients (i.e. discuss different bond types, duration, spread etc.).

-Detailed understanding of Fixed Income/ Derivative reporting.

-Proven experience and confidence in facing off to Front Office (as you will have interaction with Senior Management, Investment Teams, Sales, Traders External Clients).

-Advanced Excel skills (macro + vba level)

-Exceptional attention to detail, confident, strong organizational/ project management skills, pro-active , adaptable and work under pressure to various strict deadlines.
