FIXED INCOME PORTFOLIO MANAGER

Reporting to the Head of Fixed Income, you will oversee the investment strategies for fixed income investments in Asia ex-Japan with a focus on managing insurance and pension accounts. You will identify new investment strategies and ideas and advise the local offices to perform research and analysis of those opportunities as well as support the local fixed income portfolio managers to formulate and implement investment strategies for Asia ex-Japan.    You will also monitor the progress of implementation of fixed income investment decisions and new investment initiatives.  You will review investment policies and guidelines prepared by investment teams and provide guidance and mentorship to local fixed income portfolio managers to strengthen the general account investment discipline.  Lastly, you will proactively participate in investment and Asia ALCO committee meetings.

To qualify for the position, you should possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience. Previous portfolio management experience in managing institutional fixed income accounts with exposure to managing insurance money or pension funds would be preferred.  Strong and deep understanding of the local governments bonds and credits market and derivatives strategies and structured products, experience in life insurance industry a strong advantage.   Lastly you should have excellent interpersonal skills to work as part of a multi-region, cross-functional team.
