State Street Global Advisors (SSgA) is currently recruiting an Investment Manager within its London based Fixed Income Beta Solutions team. The team is managing broad range of fixed income portfolios and structured synthetic based fixed income solutions. The Investment Manager will be responsible for managing physical index tracking portfolios, with a particular focus on rates and ETFs. Knowledge of credit would also be an advantage. 
 

The responsibilities of the individual in this position include:

• Successfully construct and manage index tracking fixed income portfolios based on the investment guidelines.
• Accountability and ability to discuss the performance of such mandates.
• Becoming a respected and trusted member of the Fixed Income Beta Solutions team, attending and contributing to team meetings.
• Maintaining an understanding of current market developments and proactively contribute ideas.
• Working with Product Development on new strategies and funds.
• Contributing towards thought leadership through writing reports on investment themes, for internal and external distribution.
• Understanding and further enhancing current team processes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified or eqivalent in numerate/financial discipline.
• CFA qualified or undertaking CFA program is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Demonstrable and proven portfolio management experience in fixed income, including a deep understanding of credit markets. Any experience in emerging market fixed income, whilst not necessary, would be an advantage.
• Knowledge of fixed income benchmarks methodology.
• Familiarity with analytical systems such as Barclays POINT and Yieldbook.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Good writing skills and an ability to articulate market views effectively.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Numerical and analytic.
• IMC or equivalent exam recognized by the FSA for threshold competence desirable.
