Fixed Income Product Control Manager recruitment
Owing to an internal move to the Front Office a management role has become available in the fixed income product control team of a renown banking group. This position will manage three staff and focus on interest rate products which is a significant source of how the trading group derives its profits. You will take responsibility for the balance sheet and profit and loss of the business unit (BU), and partner the BU closely through the provision of financial insight and analysis. This position will involve considerable interaction with other groups such as Group Finance, Middle Office, Price Testing, and other colleagues in the Product Control function. The bank has a commitment to continuous improvement and so you will also be involved in making recommendations with respect to process improvement. To be considered of this opportunity it is essential that you have a strong product control background with at leats five years in the industry. A qualification is a distinct advantage, particularly CA/CPA and relevant product experience will be looked favourably upon.
Major accountabilities of position
- Lead 3 professional finance staffs responsible for the preparation and delivery of daily and monthly financials results for the Capital Market businesses.?
- Responsibility for the control environment supporting the Capital Market business including the integrity of the balance sheet and profit and loss.?
- Provide advice and value added service to the business in relation to the accounting matters related to the Capital Market products.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key stakeholders including front office, Management, Middle office, Operations, other product control teams and the WIB Continuous Improvement team.
- Gain a thorough understanding of the Capital markets product systems, in particular Murex.
- Coach/mentor a team of dedicated staffs in order to improve the output of the PL COE team.
- Assist and manage ad-hoc change projects where required to address changes in reporting or regulatory requirements (eg Finance Transformation, SOX, ODR, new accounting standards or policies, notes to accounts).
- Identify and implement process changes to improve team quality and productivity.
- Review new products within the Capital Markets business including the development of appropriate accounting policies where relevant.
