Opportunity
MG Fixed Income has a growing range of funds for third party institutional clients to invest. These include Irish Qualifying Investment Funds, Luxembourg SICAVs, Limited Partnerships and Guernsey Property Unit Trusts. MG Fixed Income is looking to add a Product Development Manager to its team to act as the guardian of the Fixed Income product range and be responsible for sponsoring and / or supporting the product development process and governance model. This is a new role and should give the successful candidate an opportunity to shape the role in the future.
Key responsibilities Product Development * Lead product development process to ensure it is aligned with the business vision and related strategy of the business * Sponsor or represent the Fixed Income Management team in the development of new product ideas, from innovation and concept stage to completion of feasibility and implementation, ensuring that: o the Fixed Income Management Board and MAGIM Risk Committee approval processes are completed successfully o appropriate and on-going dialogue is maintained throughout implementation with key decision makers and / or stakeholders o all existing and new Prospectuses are accurate and appropriate for existing and potential clients * Work closely with key project stakeholders (Investment teams, Distribution, Compliance, Marketing etc.) to determine investment proposition, distribution requirements, product features etc. * Have an understanding of the pros and cons of various fund structures and be responsible for proposing product structures once an investment idea has been articulated and advise on product terms/features. * Be the Fixed Income 'Product Guardian' responsible for ensuring that the fixed income range is consistent where appropriate and acting as the gatekeeper for changes to the existing range
* Be responsible for ensuring that the Fixed Income product range is kept up to date and is appropriate for our clients' needs on an on-going basis * Manage post-launch fund reviews and annual review of the Fixed Income fund range (working with Finance) to assess relevance and alignment with business strategy and direction * Liaise with other MG business units to ensure the exchange of learning and to look for new products that we may work on in a joint capacity Competitor and Product Monitoring * Develop knowledge on market and industry trends in the institutional space. Understand competitive position of products in relation to existing product range, benchmarking of MG against competition, keeping up to date with new product developments in the industry * Lead and facilitate Distribution and Investment teams to generate new product ideas, communicate market trends and assess the impact
What we are looking for Essential: * Product development experience within asset management Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal, with excellent active listening skills; * Strong influence and negotiating skills with an ability to manage a variety of stakeholders * Excellent organisational skills * Willingness to work to tight deadlines, and work on multiple projects, taking into account evolving business priorities * Strong analytic and proven problem solving skills with an ability to negotiate pragmatic solutions to meet varied business requirements * Highly self-motivated, ability to work under own initiative, proactive and resilient * Able to work effectively at all levels in an organisation, with strong relationship management skills Desirable: * Familiar with fixed income investment asset classes and structures / products e.g. bonds, real estate debt, structured credit, private placements and other esoteric instruments * An appreciation of a wide range of product structures (e.g. SICAVs, QIFs, Limited Partnerships etc.) and regulations (e.g. UCITS, AIFMD etc.) and product features * Knowledge of the asset management industry
