  Fixed Income Product Specialist (LARGE ASSET MANAGER)

Key responsibilities:

The individual will participate in and lead the product structuring efforts for new products. The individual will be required to:
• Identify investment processes required to support new product ideas and ensure that these can be supported by portfolio managers and other business areas.
• Identify optimal fund structure within regulatory and internal guidelines.
• Conduct ad-hoc analysis related to design and construction.
• Identify and document any system changes required to support the investment process.
• Work to develop close links with other businesses and teams which form part of the structuring process to ensure timely and effective product delivery.
• Ensure that new products successfully gain approval through the various boards and internal committees.
• Ensure appropriate transferral of product information to other departments within the product development and the business.
• Actively contribute to the identification and implementation of improvements to the way in which new product is developed and launched.
• Be a product champion, representing product development internally and externally, where appropriate.
• Support product development and management in responding to inquiries from sales, intermediaries and investors.

Experience

• Proven buy or sell side experience in product development or portfolio management, ideally within UCITS framework.
• Strong understanding of the asset management industry and the regulatory environment associated with it.
• Broad understanding of tax, portfolio management, regulatory and operational requirements as they relate to product.
• Knowledge of index construction methodologies and terminology.
• Knowledge of delta-one derivatives.
• Quantitative aptitude and analytical skills.
• Broad understanding of the investment process an advantage.
• Fixed Income knowledge an advantage.

Skills
• Adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good writing and presentation skills.
• Strong MS Excel.
• Knowledge of Bloomberg a plus.
• Hard working and driven to succeed.
• Resourceful, proactive and able to effectively operate in a highly collegial and demanding team environment.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills.
• Ability to pick up digest new detail quickly.

Qualifications
• BA / BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or similar field.
• CFA or MBA a plus.
