Fixed Income Product Specialist
The Product Specialist role will support the fixed income Product Managers and Investment Directors with various tasks and goals, including:
Existing fund analysis, requiring the development of a deep knowledge of all aspects of the process, team, performance and investment strategy for all fixed income disciplines.
Client reporting, including the provision of data and the production of regular and ad hoc written reports on the market environment, fund developments and strategy.
Communication with business channels globally, specifically developing relationships with key channels, informing and educating them on fixed income,
Developing new sales materials appropriate to their specific needs, disseminating necessary information to these channels
Product development - assisting the Product Managers and Investment Directors in the analysis of new fund and product opportunities, the provision of internal and external documents supporting fund launches and post-launch support.
Maintenance and provision of management information: the production of regular data and information to be centrally held by, and to support, the Product Management function, including net and gross sales data by discipline and fund, franchise marketing statistics and Portfolio Manager marketing hours.
The main partners will be the Product Managers, Investment Directors, the Indian-based Product Specialists, Portfolio Managers, Competitor Fund Analysts, the local heads of marketing, the sales teams and consultant relations.
Essential skills
- Experience of asset management and a knowledge of fixed income instruments and the associated skills used by portfolio managers and research analysts
- Strong writing skills (fluent English is a requirement)
- Strong presentation skills (contact with external clients will be progressive and not immediate but is required as the maturity of the position evolves)
- A desire to grow the assets and profitability of the fixed income franchise
Preferable skills and experience
- IMC and/or partial/full CFA qualification
- A knowledge of VBA
- A deep knowledge of fixed income instruments, analysis and portfolio management techniques would be advantageous
