FIXED INCOME QUANT: Independent Model Control – VP recruitment

Independent Model Control is a small specialist valuations team sitting within Product Control. The team performs the following functions from a Product Control perspective:
- Drives improvements to global model governance
- Development of a reporting and control framework around model risk
- Oversight and signoff of complex valuation controls
The role requires focus on global Rates and FX and development of controls specific to the area.
Primarily responsibility will be to review and drive improvements to key valuation controls:
- Model Risk analysis
- Portfolio valuation and model calibration
- Fair valuation adjustment methodology
- Trade approval/booking review
- IPV
The successful candidate will be expected to forge close relationships with key senior business partners, in particular Front Office and Risk, as well as the wider Product Control group.
Skills / Experience required:
- MSc or PhD in quantitative Finance, Physics, Maths or Engineering
- In-depth understanding of derivatives and valuation models, and appropriate control framework.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence senior colleagues.
- Ability to confidently explain complex issues at a variety of levels .
- Owner of key issues.
