Our client is a US Top-Tier Investment Bank currently expanding in Asia, and specifically in Hong Kong as well. With an excellent internal policy supporting internal mobility, this fantastic opportunity comes along as a member of the team transferred internally. They have a strong and established sales team in the Fixed Income business and is therefore looking for an experienced professional from a similar Trader / Sales Assistant / Client Services background to join their excellent Sales Assistant team.
Reporting to the VP, you will be responsible for booking and processing credit products executed by credit sales in the Asia region, attending to sales and client queries, and liaising with various teams to resolve relevant issues. You will be sitting on the trading floor next to the Credit Sales. To be specific, the product coverage will include, but not limited to, Credit Default Swaps, cash bonds (UST, Agencies, Euro and US Corps, European Sovereign Govies), Repo, MBS, CMO and OTC options. In terms of daily duties, you will book and ensure trades executed by sales are correctly captured in risk management systems. You will allocate trades in risk management systems according to clients' requests. You will liaise with various teams globally such as Trader Assistant, Trade Support, Sales Support, Onboarding, Confirmation, Settlement and Technology to address relevant issues. You will maintain client reference data in relevant systems. You will attend to ad-hoc queries and requests from sales and clients. You will also participate in regional and global projects with focus on process improvements. In this role, you are expected to step up to lead a sub-team of 6-7 people in 6-9 months. And there will be opportunities to participate in a range of regional and global projects including industry initiatives, sales meetings and client visits.
To qualify, individuals must possess:
- A Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, business, or any other relevant disciplines ideally in a numerate discipline from a reputable overseas university
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Fixed Income Sales Assistant / Trader Assistant / Client Services
- Solid experience in cash Bonds and CDS is a MUST; candidates with other FICC Derivatives background only will not be considered
- Technical knowledge on Fixed Income product life-cycle management and corporate actions
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Good level of Mandarin is preferred
- Proactive personality and fast learner
- Flexible to work long hours and face challenges when necessary
