Scope
This position will typically report into an Equipment Superintendent or the District Equipment Manager. You will have responsibility for supporting maintenance operations; operator training; assist in equipment sales and equipment cost control in their assigned area.
Key Responsibilities
-Follow all company safety policies and guidelines. Keep shop area organized and clean; maintain all tools in a safe condition.
-Understand and follow federal, state and local regulations, such as those governing the disposal of hazardous waste.
-Keep current on company policy and manufacturer service bulletins.
-Assist in safety tool box meetings and daily safety reminders. Assist in developing work plans with hazard and quality analysis.
-Manage the JEM reports on a daily basis.
-Visual Inspections
-Schedule 500 Hour PM Checks; Annual Inspections
-Schedule Oil Changes and Samples
-Maintenance Backlog
-Repair Reports
-Warranty Consideration Reports
-Move Equipment Between Jobs
-Maintain Equipment Record File Folders
-Purchase Parts and Materials; Cost Code and Process Bills
-Manage Parts and Supplies Inventory
-Work With Equipment Superintendent to Schedule Repairs and PMs
-Work with Vendors on Outside Repairs
-Attend company and manufacturer sponsored training classes.
-Miscellaneous other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
This position requires hands-on mechanical experience, experience with ordering and inventorying equipment parts are all beneficial. General mechanical skills, the ability to read and comprehend instructions, and good judgment are essential. Must have the ability to communicate and work with others both in the maintenance and production groups. Think you have what it takes?
-Bachelors degree (B. S. in Engineering, Construction Management or related field of study) from four-year College or University
-Must be willing to relocate initially and on an as-needed basis
-Related experience in the transit or electrical industry is preferred
-Must possess a valid drivers license
-Must be proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Primavera, and Construction Accounting Software
