Flight Test Engineer Posted on: 03/20/12 Job Number: 126 Location: Tucson, TX Description: Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, development of concept of operations, mission planning, weapon test bed integration, test objectives, appropriate documentation (Test Plans and Procedures), and analysis. Individual will interface with both RMS program leadership as well as the external customer. The role often requires acting independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with development of pre-flight activities, test bed, and/or the Test Range. The individual will be responsible for organizing/presenting official Readiness Reviews, both on-site and in the field. The individual will represent the organization as an expert within the field during pre-flight and live fire activities. Requirements: Required Skills: A minimum of five (5) years of technical/engineering experience Possess strong oral and written communication skills Ability to manage skills/time to effectively satisfy demanding internal customers and schedules. Ability to provide solutions to a variety of technical problems of moderate scope and complexity. Ability to exercise significant latitude and independence in their assignments. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information Desired Skills: Experience with Test Ranges (Eglin, China Lake) Experience with 1553 communication bus interfaces Knowledge of any of the following: 6DOF simulations, flight dynamics, data reduction and analysis.
