This is an exciting opportunity for a Fluid Power Engineer position located in Columbus IN. Key Responsibilities: Sytech builds custom engineered test stands for Cummins entities, both for manufacturing and for product development. Examples of typical projects include; component test stands, fuel system rigs, Engine Test Cells, Electronic Test Stands (ETS), and New Product Testing. A successful Fluid Power Design Engineer at Sytech must be focused on designing and managing the build of innovative assembly and test equipment to meet the proprietary needs of Cummins Inc. Additionally, the Fluid Power Design Engineer must be able to manage multiple projects in regard to schedule and budget. Machine Design and Build Experience desired Skills: - Design fluid systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic, for conventional assembly equipment as well as special fluid based test stand circuits - Develop the project schedule and work with the customer and operating team to pull each activity to meet individual milestones. - Specify and order materials for each project - Create completed project documentation for design review and final project documentation including Autocad drawings and machine user manuals. - Support manufacturing department during assembly and debug of machines - Work with controls design and mechanical design engineers to develop machine concepts and specifications - Selection of standards in hardware and documentation. - Actively participate in sales, seeking new projects, working on quote teams, and keeping accurate records of managed projects. - Stay current on technology changes - Participate in standardization of components and design - Six Sigma experience - Green Belt preferred (or willingness to work towards certification) - Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment Experience and Education: - BSME, BSMET, BSEE, BSEET or other technical degree Compensation and Benefits: Compensation: Base salary commensurate with experience plus bonus.
