Job Description
Norland Managed Services are a hard services led FM provider, we are seeking to recruit an Apprentice Facilities Manager.
FM plays such a crucial role across business premises and it is only right that this is recognized through investment in skills training. The FM Apprenticeship could not have come at a better time for Norland as we have recently formed Norland Managed Services Division.
Facilities managers are responsible for the management of services and processes that support the core business of an organisation. They ensure that an organisation has the most suitable working environment for its employees and their activities. Duties vary with the nature of the organisation, but facilities managers generally focus on using best business practice to improve efficiency, by reducing operating costs while increasing productivity.
This is a wide field with a diverse range of responsibilities, which are dependent on the structure of the organisation. Facilities managers are involved in both strategic planning and day-to-day operations, particularly in relation to buildings and premises.
Purpose of the Job
- Co-ordinate and manage the facilities services across MSV contracts to ensure effective service delivery
Responsibilities
- Organise and create an effective business support service for administrative procedures, ensuring
- Take ownership of operational facilities management issues
- Oversee day to day facilities operations, ensuring all operational issues are dealt with and resolved quickly and efficiently
- Provide support to the management of the operational offering of FM for the company
- To support implementation of best practice initiatives in FM standards
- To support transition and mobilisation of new business
- To carry out any ad-hoc tasks as requested
Apprenticeship details
Advanced Apprenticeship Framework (Level 3)
The advanced Apprenticeship in Facilities Management programme consists of qualifications that must be completed to enable individuals to achieve.
- Competency element – assessed in the workplace
Level 3 NVQ in Facilities Management
- Technical Certificate – assessed by work based assignments, reflective reviews and written questions:
Level 3 Certificate in FM 22 Credits
- Functional Skills – both assessed by external exam taken at the College
English Level 2
Maths Level 2
Expected Apprenticeship Duration
The duration of the Apprenticeship programme 12 months. During the 12 months the candidate will be released meet their assessors for four hours a month. This will be done either once a month or 2 hours every fortnight. It is expected that Apprentices will have around 3 hours per week home study for assignment work or examination revision.
