SUMMARY

 

Develop and manage plant level strategy and objectives in support of corporate goals in the plant competitive environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.   Other duties may be assigned.

 

·         Plans and directs through subordinate levels of management, all assembly and production test operations required to achieve customer requirements on time.

·         Responsible for accuracy of all production related data and effective communication to meet cost targets and drive improvement effort from support groups. 

·         Establishes direction for quality improvement, process and productivity improvement teams and housekeeping effectiveness.

·         Responsible for meeting total efficiency goals outlined in operations budget.

·         Advises coordinates with advanced program teams to insure assembly of systems which meet quality standards.  Responsible for the quality of all units produced.

·         Establishes maintains cohesive relationships with other departments to improve product performance reduce costs.

·         Responsible for coaching, performance management and development of manufacturing associates.

·         Enforce company policies regulations to staff.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises the employees in the Production and Maintenance department including Production Supervisors, Maintenance Supervisors on the off-shifts and subordinates.   Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws.

 

TS 16949 and ISO14001 RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Adhere to all TS16949 and ISO 14001 procedures as related to the Manufacturing Operations department function and as described in the respective Quality and Environmental manuals.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelors degree or equivalent; or 8 years of automotive manufacturing management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  

·         Advanced degree in business or technical field is preferred.

·         Knowledge of Lean manufacturing strategy and concepts.  

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.   Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.   Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.   Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.   Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
