Partners with Canada business team and HQ FSQA to manage Food Safety Quality Assurance needs of Target Owned Brands Foods sold in Canada by supporting the commercialization of new products, continuous product improvement, and managing food safety and quality incidents.

- Manage initial approval and on-going performance monitoring of vendor facilities, including food safety program reviews through desk audit, on-site assessments
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of compliance documentation in all appropriate information systems.
- Manage follow up and resolution process for consumer complaints as well as other quality issues.
- Lead and manage key technical programs and be "Subject Matter Expert" on food safety and quality programs. Provide technical training as required.
- Actively stay abreast of current and emerging Canada food safety issues and regulations. Asses and communicate the potential impact to Target and develop risk mitigation plans if needed.
- Provide support for implementing food recall/withdrawals activities as well as communication with Target business partners, leadership and regulatory agencies and records maintenance.
Requirements
- B.S. in Food Science, Food Microbiology, or related discipline.
- 2-8 years experience in Food Safety and Quality Assurance in food service or a consumer packaged food product manufacturing
- Working knowledge of food safety and quality assurance principles, programs and practices and food manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of CFIA, other provincial and federal Canadian regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment to manage time and resources to execute projects and achieve goals.
- Strong communication, analytical and problem solving skills
