SCOPE OF JOB:
Assist the District Forester in performing forestry activities within the
district. Manage timberlands in a manner to maximize the return on the companys
assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Promote, protect, and maintain land and timber through aggressive
silvicultural treatments, boundary line maintenance, improving access and
contractor supervision.
2.Assist District Forester with preparing and tracking monthly, quarterly, and
annual budgets at the district level.
3.Plan and schedule regeneration activities in coordination with the District
Forester.
4.Inspection of harvest operations, including BMP compliance.
5.Assist District Forester with input and maintenance of IFMS (GIS) for the
district.
a.Record and tract forest activities.
b.Perform stand inventories.
c.Update maps with GPS.
6.Develop reports in conjunction with land acquisitions, trades, or sales, and
other various reports as required by District Forester.
EDUCATION:
Bachelors degree in Forest Management or Wildlife Management from an accredited
institution.
EXPERIENCE:
3 to 5 years of forestry or wildlife management experience.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Strong analytical skills and the ability to supervise and coordinate
contractors. Good communication skills.
