In Australia and New Zealand JPMorgan WSS provides these services to over 70 clients, helping them mitigate risk and enhance revenue. The WSS Technology team supports the WSS businesses in Asia Pacific. The team consists of approximately 90 throughout the Asia Pacific region.
Position Summary:
Supporting the Worldwide Securities Services division of J.P. Morgan in Sydney, this is a key role working with a team of Application Support Specialists.
The Forte Support Analyst will manage and actively engage with production technology incidents to resolution, ensuring timely engagement, escalation and effective communication to business, technology and vendor partners
You will be responsible for the support and maintenance of both vendor and in-house built applications for the Australia/New Zealand line of business and will work closely with both technology and the business support units to ensure the timely resolution of issues.
This role requires production support experience in a complex technical and business environment. For the right candidate there is an opportunity for real career progression in a business that is going through a period of growth.
Key Accountabilities/Major Responsibilities:
- Provide application support to the WSS Australia business, resolving issues in an efficient and timely manner·
- Proactively identify common root causes of issues and address to improve overall production stability·
- Work with application vendors to schedule upgrades and enhancements·
- Engage with project teams through the project life cycle to ensure successful delivery·
- Work with business and technology teams to plan and execute the WSS Disaster Recovery plan
- Develop sevice request enhancements / production fixes to meet the WSS business and client needs
- Manage minor application enhancements to meet the WSS business and client needs.
- Ability to work with teams in multiple geographic locations and time zones.
- Ability to identify risk areas within the application suite and work partner with the relevant technology and business groups to close out risks discovered.
- Ability to work with Operations on L2 and L3 production support as required
Skills
Knowledge and Experience Required:
Excellent technical knowledge including:
- Experience of L1, L2 or L3 Production support
- Application Support:
- Essential: FORTE ( P-Control)
- Very Highly regarded: Hiportfolio 3v5, Composer, Exigo, Champ, SPA-D Performance, OASYS, MetaStorm Workflow, Worldcheck AML
- SQL - Sybase and Oracle
- Application Development - Visual Basic 6 and Java
- Previous experience in supporting Java/J2EE based applications
- Server - Wintel and UNIX
- Experience with Active Directory and LDAP
- Log4j experience
- Windows 2008

- Exposure to Apache Tomcat / other web server required
- JAVA/J2EE and SQL Server 2005 project experience
- Database querying skills are critical. In-depth knowledge of SQL required
- Load balancers and basic networking (Firewalls)
- Encryption methodology and SSL Certificates

- Scripting (Batch, VBScript, PowerShell, Perl, etc)
- Autosys
- Thorough understanding of financial and banking applications, ideally in Custody, Fund Services or Fund Administration.
- Experience in Disaster Recovery planning and test execution.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology. Master's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or Information Technology is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of securities processing Order Management and STP flow, cash allocation and rebalancing, SWIFT Messaging and an overall understanding of mutual/hedge, fund middle and back office operations (Viewed Favorably)
- Minimum 8 years experience within Financial Services Industry
Formal Qualifications:
- Degree educated
- ITIL certification or awareness
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle
