The Business Finance organization plays a critical role as trusted business partner to the business units, supporting all analysis, reporting and planning needs of the business. We produce budgets, short and long range forecasts; create and analyze business metrics and identify cost savings opportunities; deliver economic insight into the relationships between costs and revenues to improve the financial success of the business going forward.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Forecasting, Annual Planning processes and support monthly close process for the business.
- Develop expense and headcount forecasts.
- Provide periodic financial reporting (e.g. weekly, monthly) and variance analysis on expense components for the business and business partners. Focus will be on enhancing monthly headcount and financial forecasting, business economics and business unit and regional financial reporting.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the business, drivers and key ongoing projects.
- Participate in and/or lead team-wide ad-hoc analyses, reporting and financial modeling projects.
- Drive process and content improvements to financial processes, including continued automation of management reporting across the region.
- Coordinate with Global functional Finance teams, as needed, on key deliverables. Role also interacts heavily with Finance colleagues across BlackRock.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics or related field
- 2-5 years of experience budgeting, planning and reporting preferably in asset management or financial services
- Ability to prioritize in a fast paced environment, manage multiple tasks/assignments and consistently meet deadlines
- Able to work independently as a hands-on individual contributor, and extract information creatively from a variety of sources
- Able to work effectively at all levels of an organization - with team members, managers, and senior executives, and deliver results in a matrixed organization
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Proficiency with Essbase/Hyperion a plus
