Freight Trader – Amsterdam recruitment
Leading European Energy Company is actively seeking an experienced Freight Trader to join their firm in Amsterdam. You will be joining a firm who is a major player in the Continental European energy markets, and are undergoing significant growth across their trading portfolio. This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced Freight Trader to join a growing firm with a substantial physical and derivatives portfolio.
In this position you will be developing a proprietary trading position in freight and FFAs in particular. You will also be responsible for developing trading strategies to shape the direction of the trading book and market making on behalf of internal customers. In this position you will work closely with both the biomass and coal desks in order to optimise the freight trading portfolio.
You will need to have a strong background in trading, with track record of strong PL generation and experience in market-making positions. You should also have a strong fundamental knowledge of the coal, freight and dry bulk markets and a good knowledge of physical flows for both shipping and rail within Europe.
