French speaking Lead Translator

Due to our phenomenal success, offers a dynamic environment with lots of opportunity for growth. We currently have a very exciting opportunity for a Lead Translator to join our French Group.

 

We are looking for a technically knowledgeable, web savvy, resourceful, and creative person to take responsibility for all the translations, reviews and quality control for a leading provider of networking solutions and a multinational corporation that focuses on 2D and 3D design software for use in architecture, engineering and building construction, manufacturing, and media and entertainment.

 

The candidate will be comfortable post-editing machine translations of software and hardware texts as well as translating and reviewing them. High regard to detail and consistency combined with style guide and terminology adherence is a must. The ideal candidate will have knowledge in the area of computer-aided design and graphics software on top of good familiarity with cloud storage, virtualization, data center solutions etc. Experience in engineering design and construction principles will be an additional advantage.

 

The chosen candidate will also be highly skilled in technical documentation related to the above subject expertise.

 

This Lead Translator’s primary purpose is to ensure that the expected level of translation quality is secured and the product delivered to the client is fit for purpose at all times.

 

Major responsibilities will include:

 

·         Collect client feedback and updates and distribute material to all translators/vendors involved

·         Analyze client feedback and assist with remedial action plans

·         Communicate with client reviewer

·         Advise on resource selection upon request, taking into account previous experience and short-term and long-term needs

 

This position might require occasional travel.

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

 

This role may evolve into a leadership position within the respective Language Group.

 

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

 

University degree in Translation/Applied Languages; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS 

 

·         Fluent -speaker of French and fluent in English, both written and spoken, in a wide range of registers, from formal to colloquial

·         Strong experience in localization ( +2 years) and proven track record as Language Specialist

·         Reasonable knowledge in the terminology, voice tone used in the manufacturing industry.

·         Knowledge in mechanical, electrical, design and construction, simulation and documentation processes for design and engineering workgroups, measure areas and count building components, sketching, modeling, and 3D product visualization

·         Good marketing (i.e. audience- and market-oriented) translation skills adhering to Client Tone Voice guidelines

·         Excellent user knowledge of computer-aided tools (CAT).

·         Profound understanding of different file formats and the usage of tags.

·         Open towards innovative solutions

·         A good understanding of Machine Translation (MT) engines and MT Post-editing, (processes, tools, schedule and budget impact) is a plus.
