Pulse Energy is a leading clean tech company based in downtown Vancouver. We produce SaaS solutions that help businesses understand, monitor, and reduce their energy usage.
The Opportunity
Pulse Energy is looking for software developers who are passionate about building awesome web-based user interfaces. As a member of Pulse Energy’s product development team you’ll be involved in all aspects of designing, building, and running the products that make up our industry-leading Energy Information System. While most of your time will be spent on software development, you will also be involved with testing, operations, and support as part of the weekly release cycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Front-end development using Javascript, CSS, HTML 5 and related technologies.
- Working with our UX teammates on the design, development, and testing of product UI.
- Back-end development using Java and Javascript (node.js) as required.
- Writing automated tests and ensuring there is adequate test coverage for your source code (Jasmine, Mocha).
- Making pragmatic decisions, taking into account concerns and ideas from the rest of the development team about the overall system architecture.
- Promptly fixing build errors.
- Helping to provide support for our production environments as we strive to meet stringent uptime goals.
- Challenging yourself and the team to experiment with and introduce new and better technologies into the system.
- Collaborating with your team members and documenting your work using tools like asana, JIRA, wikis, HipChat, and a whiteboard.
- Presenting occasional Lunch ‘n’ Learn sessions so everyone on the team is familiar with what you’ve been working on.
- Participating in weekly iteration planning, testing, bug fixing and deploying releases.
