Huffington Post is building a next generation ground breaking live streaming network.
Role: Front-End Engineer
As a Front-End Engineer you will be part of a dynamic team challenged with building out an socially engaging online video experience. We'll be solving our challenges using modern client side technologies and methodologies.
Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain slick and responsive client side applications that work consistently across all A grade browsers
• Build corresponding apps for mobile, tablet, and other devices.
• Build in-house utilities to facilitate our video production workflow
• Develop APIs to aid in the integration of our components into other offerings
• Incorporate designs into pixel accurate representations across various environments.
• Being conscientious about performance implications of your code
• Staying on top of the latest front-end trends, technologies, and web standards.
Requirements:
• Passion for client side development that delivers the best possible user experience.
• Fluency in Actionscript, Javascript, or similar client side languages.
• Knowledge of advanced client-side techniques including optimization, object-oriented architecture, and asynchronous UI
• Experience working with json and restful web services
• Enthusiasm for your work and ability to work in a team
• Ability to work collaboratively with design, product management, and engineering teams
• Knowledge of web standards, CSS-based design, and cross-browser compatibility
• Comfortable working with Git or other version control
• Familiarity with test driven development and continuous integration.
• Experience with web video a huge plus.
This position is full-time in our New York City office.
