About the role:
The Front End Web Developer is a member of the MRM technology team. This role involves complex and unique technical problems, which requires the ability to collaborate with the other members of the project team. The Front End Web Developer will be required to exude extensive technical knowledge of all client side programming subject areas. The work on this project requires ingenuity and creativity.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strong knowledge of Web 2.0 and its technologies, tools, vendors, and products.
- Oversight and guidance for the design, code and testing of client solutions produced by the web development staff.
- Oversight and sign-off of test plans.
- Driving the resolution of design issues errors.
- Provide application technical support as required.
- Assurance that the team meets service commitments for assigned deliverables.
- Anticipates, identifies, tracks and resolve issues and risks affecting the team’s work.
- Provides input to technical design specifications.
- Provide inputs to test planning and execution.
· Fosters a collaborative, agency team environment, following and maintaining the specifications, guidelines and standards set by the department.
- Provides accurate estimation and delivery of projects.
- Provides input to the development of overall project plan.
- Assesses the development requirements and providing input with regard to the provision of standard vs. customized solutions.
- Works with the Project Manager to re-evaluate SOW’s, cost and schedule estimates.
- Provides technical problem resolution to complex issues.
- Determines the appropriate technology solutions based on a complete understanding of the requirements.
Education/Experience:
· 3-5 Years of Internet/Software industry experience.
· Must have experience developing high-traffic production web sites.
· Web 2.0 and Object-oriented development experience.
· Must have experience with XML, SOAP, REST, web services.
· Must have proficiency with HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, XSLT, CSS and AJAX.
· Must have experience or understanding with the following (or equivalent) JSP, PHP, MySQL, MS SQL Server, C# ASP.NET, Java, JQuery, Flash (Action Script), Flex, JSF, J2ME, Objective C, Ruby, C++, XML, Mobile SDKs, Perl.
· Must have experience working with Source Code Control systems
· Strong trouble-shooting skills.
· Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, highly collaborative environment.
· Experience with Mobile Application Development is a plus.
· Experience with Flash Action Scripting is a plus.
· Experience working within an agency environment is a plus.
· Exposure to web development frameworks is a plus.
· Application development life-cycle knowledge is required.
· Exposure to multi-tiered development is a plus.
· Experience with 3D and gaming development is a plus.
· Must have experience in operating within iterative application development methodologies.
· Must be comfortable with Agile exploratory approaches utilizing emerging technologies.
· Must have working knowledge of relational databases and stored procedures.
· Must have strong attention to detail.
· Must have excellent communication and presentation skills (verbal and written).
