Front Office Business Analyst (Fixed Income) recruitment

Opportunity

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated person to fill the role of Business Analyst as part of our Fixed Income Business Analysis team. The team is responsible for providing system support to the business users as well as the analysis, implementation and enhancement of systems solutions used by the Fixed Income business from the front to the back office.

The candidate will have experience of working with asset management front office users as well as strong technical, analytical and communication skills.

Key responsibilities

- Work proactively with the business users in defining their requirements for new systems / enhancements.
- Understand existing processes, define and document new business models using structured techniques.
- Perform systems analysis and assist developers in translating specified requirements into technical solutions.
- Project Management of individual pieces of work.
- Representing Fixed Income users on group-wide projects
- Provide interface between users and other solution/service providers within MG.
- Participate/Co-ordinate testing of new applications.
- Resolution of system issues, liaising with internal departments and third party software suppliers where appropriate.
- Provide advice/support for existing applications.

What we are looking for

Essential:

- The potential candidate will have a strong business and technical background gained in the fund management industry with experience of delivering business projects.
- Proven track record of delivery in all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Capable of facilitating workshops and meetings.
- Knowledge of front office investment management processes.
- Some understanding of fixed income securities, both physical and derivatives.
- Practical knowledge of technology within the front office.
- Be proactive and delivery focussed with excellent communication skills.
- Have strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to think laterally and generate creative solutions.
- Have a genuine interest in expanding their knowledge and understanding of the challenges and developments impacting systems and operations in the fund management industry.
- Be able to generate and maintain positive relationships within the team and across the business.

Desirable:

- Experience with industry standard methods, tools and techniques for elicitation and documentation of business needs and associated requirements
- Practical knowledge of technology within front office systems (thinkFolio, Latent Zero)
- Experience of SQL.
- Investment Management Certificate or equivalent.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel
