Front Office Developer

Our exclusive Hedge Fund client is seeking a front end developer to join their development team.

The ideal candidate is a very technical individual who has a passion for delivering high quality software. As such they have a proven track record of creating high-quality products. They will be creating software for the Research and Risk departments in support of portfolio managers, analysts and traders.  High levels of quality in design and code will be expected for extensibility and maintainability, as well as for performance and scalability. They will need to understand the importance of testable code to work well on the team. They will be expected to assist with the build and deployment process of our applications.

Principal Responsibilities

•Develop technical solutions that conform to software development standards.

•Effectively participate in the Rapid Application Development process, including design, development and deployment

•Continuously expand industry and technical knowledge

•Analysis and translation of business requirements into technical requirements for development

•Provide post implementation support including monitoring application performance and debugging existing code

•Research and evaluate alternative solutions, and recommend implementations

•Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved

Education and Experience Requirements

•Minimum Bachelor’s Degree Required

•2+ years .Net application development and support

•SQL Server 2008 and above

•SQL Stored Procedures, Triggers, Functions •C# (Win Forms Preferred)

 MS Excel VBA

•Subversion or other or other Source Control System

•Strong Object Oriented Programming (OOP) knowledge

• Accurate, Rapid Application Development

• Strong analytical skills

• Proactive and flexible approach to work

• Effective oral and written communication

• Able to perform effectively in a team-oriented environment

 

Desired Skills:

WCF (Windows Communication Foundation).

LINQ, Nhibernate or other ORM

Knowledge of Structured Products / Fixed Income

Working knowledge of Sybase IQ.
