Job Description:

This position is in an existing development team within the Front Office environment working alongside traders, analysts, quants, middle and back office to develop applications in C# for the global physical commodities trading business. The business trades physical US and European Power, Gas and Oil products and options.

The role will suit a strong C# developer with broad IT skills and experience in both front end and back end (server side) development who will design and build new tools for a range of front office tasks including pre-trade analysis, trade capture, position management on the trader’s desk and PL reporting.

You will gather the requirements directly from the end users on the trading floor and in doing so will gain insight into the business and trading processes.

A range of technology is used within the team in addition to C# including Excel, SQL Server, Oracle, Java, Biztalk and opensource technologies such as the Cassandra non-relational database. So you will have the opportunity to work with different technologies and will be expected to engage in discussions around selection of the most appropriate for each task.

You will own and be responsible for delivery to the business of systems and solutions you develop.
