Front Office Operational Risk Management
The primary purpose of the role is to understand the end-to-end sales and trading lifecycle, highlighting any significant risks that arise from trading operations. This is a position for someone who understands how the front office works, someone who relishes daily interaction with revenue-generators and who can explain risks clearly.
Daily responsibilities:
- Support and monitor testing plans for the Front Office business.
- Assist product teams with key operational risks and controls.
- Learn the Group’s policies, procedures and guidelines for risk management and measurement, how they apply to the business, and encourage best practice throughout the firm.
- Analyse and monitor trends around Key Performance indicators and Key Risk Indicators, ensuring that all issues identified from monitoring and testing are clearly articulated and put into action plans.
- Escalate risk issues to senior management as and when appropriate.
- Work with the team to ensure the oversight of the monitoring plan, in line with Group policies.
Candidates:
- Will be able to work with, and influence, front office staff.
- Will have a “diplomatic but firm” approach to dealing with risk issues and contentious matters.
- Should have a firm understanding of how a trading floor works.
- May not necessarily have come from risk but will be keen to pursue a career in risk management.
