My client is a private institutional asset manager with over a billion dollars of assets under management.  It uses the latest in hardware and software technology to manage investments around the world.  Its technology group is seeking candidates for several different positions.  The group currently consists of six developers and is responsible for hundreds of processors, gigabytes of RAM, and terabytes of disk space.  The group has a ten year track record and has experienced rapid growth in profitability. My client has a vast budget and capital allocation and is seeking a likeminded individual to become a significant figure within their existing and future business. Being well recognised for its strength and focus on cutting edge technology and following successful business growth and profits, they have an opportunity for  a talented and highly motivated C++ developer to join the core analytics trading team in the US. This is a small and focused team of top computer scientists/mathematicians, located in London/New York/Asia, working closely with global front office business teams on a daily basis. The team writes a front office risk and trading platform using highly complex mathematical techniques. Technically the role will required development in C++, as well as java, C#, F#, python and a number of in house languages – thus this is an ideal role for a real ‘code hacker’ who is enthusiastic about staying on top of the latest technologies.. The role will enable you to leverage off your technical  background, quantitative ability and interest in financial products, and you will report directly to the head of the group, allowing you to learn and progress extremely quickly

The PhD C++ Developer / Trading System Developer will require the following skill set;

• C++

• Linux

• Perl/Python

• Passion for technologies – ie somebody who is a real ‘code hacker’, developing computer games, contributing to open source projects, learning functional programming languages etc

• Quantitative/Mathematical Background

• Top academic background in computer science / physics / mathematics. (PhD is a plus but not essential)

• High Energy and motivated

Responsibilities for PhD C++ Developer / Trading System Developer;

• Design and development of trading platform

• Risk reporting

• Analytics

• Frequent interaction with traders, strategists and quants on the FI, commodities and FX desk

• Report to global head of the team
