Front Office Risk Manager, VP

The Front Office Risk team is a new group that sits on the trading floor and is part of the business. This is not an independent risk function, as they are driven by trading activity and new deals. The team works across all asset classes (equity, credit, rates, FX, alternatives, CVA) and monitor daily risk taking and risk appetite and work on multiple risk projects to facilitate new transactions.

They advise senior management and desk heads on risk-related issues.

Key skills:
Team player, hard worker, works under pressure and prioritises tasks
Good communication skills
Ability to challenge the business
Willing to work on a cross asset book and to quickly understand new asset classes
Thorough understanding of at least one asset class
Solid IT skills: Excel, Access, VBA, Bloomberg
Able to quickly learn internal libraries and tools
Understands CVA and funding implications of transactions across asset classes
Practical understanding of derivatives pricing and risk theory

Nice to have:
Understanding of complex credit structures
Matlab
Murex
Experience from a tier one institution
