Senior Front office Core Java developer; Hedge fund, NYC, full time
Looking for a Developer for a front office development team in a major hedge fund in NYC
• Architect and develop core components of proprietary real-time risk analytics and portfolio management platform, various applications specific to the trading desks and the risk team, as well as other internal-facing systems.
• Participate across the entire lifecycle of mission critical applications, including business analysis, design and architecture, development, deployment, and support.
• Develop deep domain knowledge of trading by sitting on the trading desk, attending industry conferences, broker partner presentations, and reading internally distributed publications.
Must:
• 5+ of software development experience, preferably in the financial industry using Core Java (5,6), application server development, and Java Open Source toolkits
• Hedge fund or buy side experience
• Web development experience, GWT platform
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write clearly, interact with various types of personalities, and demonstrate a high-level of professionalism.
• Computer Science degree
