FS Corporate Tax Advisor -Advisory Team

We are recruiting a Corporate Tax Advisor to join our Big 4 Client’s Financial Services Advisory Team based in Edinburgh.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a large, successful and growing financial services team providing tax advisory, transactions and compliance services to a variety of clients in the Financial Services market including fund managers, life insurance companies, banks and building societies, as well as open ended and closed ended funds and private equity partnerships.

A key part of the role will be supporting clients with UK corporate tax issues for corporate groups, partnership issues, fund tax issues, fund structuring, and international tax issues. The role will also involve research and preparatory work for managers/ senior managers/ partners review, and project management and coordination of work undertaken by overseas offices for UK based clients. As you develop in the role you will also take responsibility for the review of work prepared by more junior staff and also for their technical development.

To be successful in the role you will:

• Project management skills including the coordination of a number of work streams into one overall project and Project management in terms of the ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor own budget.
• Be an excellent communicator in range of situations
• Have the ability to identify areas of risk, carry out an effective review and know when to refer upwards
• Have relationship management skills with ability to manage client expectations and expectations of internal clients.
• Be client focused and commercially aware
• Have the ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
• Take responsibility for your own work with the ability to work successfully to deadlines.
• Be Results orientated and willing to take on responsibility.
• Have good attention to detail with a commitment to high quality and accuracy

Ideally, you will be ACA/CA/ACCA/CTA qualified or be an experienced Tax Inspector with full Technical Training Course; or Law qualification. If you not currently CTA qualified, you may be entitled to study support to undertake your CTA qualification.

This is also an ideal opportunity for a new qualified ACA/CA who has no previous tax experience but has an understanding of, and an interest in, progressing their career in a tax environment and developing their skills further
