FSS Accountant recruitment
The FSS Accountant is responsible for month end closing of the Australian cost ledger and a revenue stream of the WM revenue ledger, answering ad hoc queries and producing daily and monthly reports for management decision making.
Finance Shared Services (FSS) is a newly formed group which is at the forefront of the Finance Transformation and creation of the future state structure of Finance. Within this new group are the cost ledgers of UBS Australia and the revenue ledger of UBS Wealth Management Australia.
Key tasks and responsibilities include:
1. Work closely with the Sydney FSS team, providing timely data analysis and reporting, including:
- Running ledger reports and review cost and revenue trend month on month.
- Running daily reports for the Wealth Management business
- Response to ad-hoc queries from various business managers, CFO and COO.
- Review job processes and look for improvements to improve quality or timeliness of output.
- Assist with preparing management reporting for senior management.
2. Preparation and posting of monthly cost and revenue journals:
- Prepare and post cost allocations such as stationery, dining costs, etc.
- Responsible for the month-end accrual and prepayment process for the Investment Bank and the Wealth Management business.
- Review cost postings before month-end close.
3. Support Accounts Payable processes:
- Audit of payment list, review of controls, administrator for eClaims (web-based Amex card expense system).
- Response to ad hoc invoice queries from business users.
- Monitor performance of the Accounts Payable offshore service centre team in India.
4. Balance Sheet/SOX Certification
- Preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations and confirm validity of balances
- Review of control standards to ensure their effectiveness.
- Maintain evidence and confirm compliance with SOX standards.
5. Ad-hoc duties
- Response to ad-hoc queries from various business managers, CFO and COO.
- Review job processes and look for improvements to improve quality or timeliness of output.
- Assist with preparing management reporting for senior management.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate should have the following requisites:
- Degree qualified, major in Accounting/Finance.
- Minimum two years post qualified CA/CPA or similar.
- PC literate with intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills and medium level word processing skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills - oral and written.
- Excellent customer service attitude and ability to interact with senior members of the firm.
- Strong work ethic and attitude, and ability to work collectively as a team.
- Knowledge of banking industry
- Broad business services experience (e.g. GST knowledge, Accounts Payable exposure etc.)
- SAP experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Previous accounts payable, expense management or financial experience
- Basic understanding of accounts payable expense systems
