FTSE 100 Fund Manager
My FTSE 100 leading Fund Manager is looking for an Application Support Manager to manage a team of around four. It is not entirely necessary for the candidate to come from a management background, but they should have some experience within a senior position and should have the ability to lead a team.
This candidate will act as the authority of the business application capabilities and should establish themselves as the go-to authority for business users who are having problems with applications.
The Fund Manager is at the beginning of a huge growth period and is undertaking a variety of application projects and upgrades. This would be an exciting time to join this FTSE100 establishment due to the substantial change that is taking place this year. As well as the role itself, the company’s fantastic culture makes this a happy and lively place to work and the candidate will be reporting into an extremely personable and relaxed individual.
As well as being a hands-on member of the team, the candidate will also establish training programmes and ensure that the IT applications are up-to-scratch. In addition, they will be responsible for identifying issues and making improvements.
The manager will have strong skills in an Order Management System (preferably ThinkFolio) as well as strong business knowledge. Although ThinkFolio is the preferred OMS, the leadership skills are more important and the candidate will be cross trained on ThinkFolio. Experience working with Bloomberg and FIX is also advantageous.
This candidate will stay calm under pressure and will have the natural skills to be relied upon in moments of crisis relating to application/IT operational issues. They will have excellent communication skills and must be able to keep users and team members updated with issues.
The candidate must be a role model who can encourage a team whilst working closely with them and developing a sense of trust.
