Full-Stack Engineer
We need an experienced full-stack engineer to come work with us in our offices in downtown Washington, DC. We're not going to measure your experience in years, we're going to measure it in experience. The bottom line is: have you done it before?

Our software has to be fast, reliable, and beautiful. It has to "just work" across the wide range of personal and professional devices in use today.
Specifically, we aspire to:
- Maintain a stable backend that's built to scale and thoroughly tested.
- Build beautiful UIs that are friendly with all platforms: desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Build a smart, personalized recommendation system based on affinity mapping of services and analysis of user interactions and data.
- Deliver notifications in real time, be they status updates, social activity, recommendations, or reminders.
- Build integrations to our partners' software to automate service delivery.
- Build integrations to other enterprise HR software to share data and analytics.
Main requirements
- You have worked full-stack on a live production system and perhaps built one from scratch.
- You have worked with a distributed and highly available system and perhaps designed and built it yourself or with a team.
- You don't mind being involved in product design. In fact, you enjoy it.
- You are comfortable in many programming languages and use the best one for the job at hand.
- You're familiar with ORMs: their strengths for prototyping and their limits on expression and performance.
- You may not be familiar with the tools we use, but you are smart and capable enough to pick them up quickly and start building.

Nice to have
- You create in other mediums besides code
- You've started your own business or have been part of a small start-up before
- DevOps experience writing automated deployment scripts for a distributed system
- Experience building real time web or mobile applications
- Experience with analytics engines like Elasticsearch
- Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL technologies and how to scale them
