Daily Pricing
Managers are responsible for the leadership, direction and oversight of their teams within a daily unit pricing environment.  The manager will ensure a high quality service is delivered to clients whilst operating within agreed budgets

Accounting
Responsible for all operational aspects of the accounts production.  This primarily involves a continuous review of the team workload, allocation, resources and responding to the needs of the team and clients.  Also assisting in the provision of secondary reviews of accounts files and SORP accounts.

Specific Duties:

Leadership and Management

• Lead, coach and motivate staff, particularly direct reports.
• Provide leadership on business and technical issues across the organisation. 
• Work with the Business Unit Head in shaping policy and strategic direction for the department.
• Set and maintain standards of personal and professional performance/behaviour, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
• Promote and review training and development strategy for individuals and the teams, taking specific responsibility for the development and coaching of direct reports.
• With Business Unit Head, review staff compensation packages including basic salary and bonuses.
• Monitor the objective-setting process for teams ensuring corporate deadlines are achieved. Agree objectives for direct reports annually and keep up to date on the PPR system during the year.
• Oversee the appraisal process for teams. Monitor and appraise the performance of direct reports – providing regular formal and informal feedback ensuring the PPR system is updated within corporate deadlines.
• Actively participate in industry forums on relevant areas, highlighting State Street’s strengths where required
• Deputise for the Business Unit Head when required.

Management of Service Delivery

• Plan the workload of the teams both current and future and evaluate against resources, actioning gaps and bottlenecks.
• Ensure that all procedures and processes across the teams are standardised where appropriate.
• Ensure that the control environment has no procedural or process related gaps
• Ensure that no activities are undertaken for clients that are not stated in the SLA without escalation to Business Unit Head.
• Share and act on feedback from client reviews to maintain client satisfaction.
• Monitor and control overtime other costs, identifying potential savings and improvements.
• Ensure absence management procedures are followed.
• Review breach forms and associated documentation and ensure that appropriate action is taken to minimize the risk of a similar error occurring.
• Plan and manage all relevant project work as agreed with Business Unit Head
• Contribute to the development of new products and services.
• Ensure a general knowledge of BCP exists within the team.
• Undertake, where necessary, the role of reporting managers.
• Assist in the provision of secondary review of tax and accounts files.
Manage Relationships
• Develop and maintain good relationships with staff in each allocated client organisation and with counterparts in other State Street departments and divisions.
• Provision of a liaison point with clients, auditors and trustees and maintain good working relationships with these parties.
• Ensure that clients have service reviews which are properly documented and for which appropriate follow-up actions are completed on a timely basis.
• Participate in potential client presentations and initiatives

Communication
• Provide regular formal and informal briefings on industry, company and department issues and opportunities
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with clients, third parties and colleagues, communicating effectively through formalised reporting and ad hoc liaison. 
• Monitor logged enquiries and ensure that they are resolved within appropriate timescales.
• Ensure that the Business Unit Head and other managers, as appropriate, are kept aware of all significant issues/problems/queries/work in progress that may impact upon the quality of service being given.
• Actively participate in expanded management forums, and communicate appropriately to department
Risk and Compliance
• Be aware and understand the risks inherent within the department and the potential effect of non-compliance and take appropriate corrective action
• Be aware of and ensure that both internal and external regulatory and audit requirements are met
• Escalate any breaches of regulation immediately
• Understand and adhere to compliance procedures
• Provide and review internal MIS on a monthly basis agreeing corrective action on areas falling below standard.

Experience

Self Management/Personal Development
• Manage own time and activities effectively setting an example through good housekeeping and time management
• Take responsibility for personal development and training.
• Keep up to date with legislative and regulatory changes affecting the business.
• Ensure knowledge of State Street global products and systems is kept up to date
• Actively participate in the objectives and appraisal processes by completing a self-evaluation and suggesting appropriate development to ensure own effectiveness in a changing business context

Experience of working at a management level in a fund administration or a similar environment with specific experience of pricing and /or financial reporting for UK Collective funds. 
•Qualified Accountant (ACMA/ACA/ACCA)
•Accounting or Business Studies Degree, or equivalent
•Experience of pricing and or accounting for unit trusts, OEIC’s or other collective investment schemes
•Experience of taxation of collective investment schemes
•Experience in a managerial role
•Ability to liase with third parties – typically clients, auditors and trustees
•Demonstrate effective time management and organisational skills
