Fund Accountant

o Responsibility for the accounting and internal and external reporting for a number of private equity funds which each consist of several sub-funds
o Preparing Excel-based management accounts each month
o Preparation of statutory accounts for sub-funds and liaising with auditors
o Maintaining the cash books and performing monthly bank reconciliations
o Posting to the general ledger and investment database systems
o Preparing interim and annual financial statements for investors
o Making payments to investors, investee companies etc, and liaising with the funds` banks
o Preparing regular and ad hoc schedules for investors - e.g. account balances, details of payments
o Responding to regular and ad hoc investor queries and internal information requests
o Assist finance team in meeting their regulatory compliance obligation

o Qualified accountant
o Strong Excel skills
o Well organised, logical thinker, able to meet deadlines
o Experience with Sun Accounting system is ideal but not essential
o Good interpersonal skills - there will be interaction with the finance team and the portfolio and investment teams
o Good team player - will be joining a finance department of a small business. The flexibility to respond to short term pressures on the team and help out when required will be important.
o Will need to be able to cope with, and be motivated by, a range of different types of work, from basic bookkeeping and transaction processing to accounts preparation and dealing with senior management
