Purpose Of Role:       

To prepare all components of interim and final accounts and associated monthly reconciliation packs for a variety of funds.

Specific Duties:

Core

• Exhibit detailed understanding and execution of all A1 tasks and functions

• Take a pro-active interest in own training and development

• Develop expert knowledge of State Street systems

• Leverage strong working relationships built up with other teams/departments

• Perform more advanced work within the team and pro-actively assist others

• Liaise effectively with clients resolving issues timeously, and providing recognised service excellence

• Assist with controls and reviews within team

• Participate in projects impacting the wider group where possible

• Advanced query resolution, often working independently

• Provide on the job coaching for less experienced staff

• Actively participate in appraisal process by completing a self evaluation and suggesting appropriate development goals

• Ensure the line manager and others, as appropriate, are kept aware of all issues/problems/queries/work in progress that may impact the quality of service being provided

• Perform team housekeeping duties, filing, rota tasks

Accounts Specific

• Prepare accounts in SORP format with supporting schedules

• Prepare corporation tax and income tax computations for insertion in the accounts and submission to Inland Revenue

• Proof read accounts for arithmetical and type setting accuracy and consistency

• Resolve review points highlighted by senior fund accountants and assistant manager and ensure they are kept informed of progress

• Provision of liaison point with auditors, trustees and clients and be able to explain figures prepared to third parties

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Specific Qualifications / Skills:

• Broad understanding of fund administration including NAV production and pricing

• Accountancy or business degree required

• Completion of financial statements (SORP) for all funds

• Demonstrate full understanding of accounting and taxation regulations and SORP for collective funds

Level Of Education:

• Accountancy or Business degree (preferred)

• Highers obtained (including A/B grade is preferred) or equivalent

• Obtained or studying towards obtaining a professional accountancy qualification.

Previous Level Of Experience:

• Previous experience of accounting for unit trusts, OEIC’s or other collective investment schemes
