Fund Accountant, Private Equity, Leading Asset Manager

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Understanding the assets in the funds and reconciling them to the administrators’ data.  

Quarterly financial statements and periodic drawdowns and distributions are prepared by the administrator.

Pricing of assets will need to be coordinated and monitored.

The interaction of the different entities in the fund’s structure will need to be understood and monitored. This includes feeder vehicles, LuxCo’s and co-investor funds.

Internally, the candidate will need to be able to establish good working relationships with the Operations department, the Risk team, Performance team, the Portfolio managers and the traders. Externally, the candidate will have daily interaction with the administrator as well as involvement with the external auditors. Ultimately the candidate will need to be totally familiar with all aspects of the accounting for the funds.

The candidate will also need to liaise extensively with other internal departments to ensure understanding of the structure throughout the firm. This is particularly important due to the new nature of this business stream. Significant interaction will be required with sales and investor relations and also, on occasion, directly with the investors.

The candidate will have in depth knowledge of at least one of the below competencies

  1. Limited Partnership Agreement's
  2. Carry/waterfall accounting, masterfeeder fund structures
  3. Tax structuring between legal entites

The opportunity exists to develop what you do not have of the above 3.
