Fund Accounting and ETF Project Manager -VP recruitment
Job Description
This role is has dual responsibilities – Fund Accounting Project Manager and Assistant Regional ETF Operations Manager. The role is based in Hong Kong and will have a direct reporting line into the VP for the Fund Accounting department, and a matrix reporting line into the Regional ETF Operations Manager in Sydney office.
Fund Accounting Project Manager
This role works closely with the VP for Fund Accounting by taking responsibility overseeing all accounting related projects and initiatives, including all accounting related Business Transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Aligns local operations initiatives with APAC regional and global strategic objectives.
- Works with other divisions to identify new business opportunities and to ensure optimal service delivery for customers.
- Research, analyze and document business, user and technical requirements for both internal and client initiatives.
- Design improved business processes and procedures.
- Assist with the development and execution of projects using standard methodology and project management skills.
- Define project timetable and manage meetings and tasks accordingly.
- Maintain an understanding of State Street products and services that meet the “best practices” model.
Assistant ETF Operations Manager
This role works closely with the Regional ETF Operations Manager by taking responsibility for the implementation of best practice processes and procedures, overseeing all aspect of risk assessment and new business implementation. The Assistant Regional ETF Operations Manager plays an integral role in building the team environment, managing and implementing change. It is responsible for acting as project lead to provide direction and support for implementing new business, as well as monitoring client service standards within the ETF operations.
Responsibilities
- Manages new business implementation by developing plans/approach, leading team efforts, overseeing deliverables, resolving issues and prioritizing actions
- Develop timely and innovative solutions to meet new ETF business and local regulator requirements.
- Create an environment that attracts, engages and retains industry leading talent.
- Supports development and implementation of project methodology, tools, best practices and quality controls
- Seeks opportunities to improve operational performance and provide a platform for future growth
- Preparation and analysis of management reporting, including key performance and risk indicator of the local ETF operations team
- Assess and monitor operational risk through design testing and monitoring procedures to review, assess the effectiveness of controls
- Ensure full compliance with the corporate Risk Policy, Standard Operating Procedures, relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
Experience Competencies
- Tertiary qualifications and at least 8 years financial services experience/strong market knowledge.
- Relevant ETF operations experience / knowledge preferred.
- Strong understanding of fund accounting and global custody preferred.
- Familiarity with local markets – Practices, regulations, industry trends and key industry segments.
- Proven capabilities in people management, operations and project work
- Proven ability to manage several projects concurrently to execute local and global initiatives.
- Ability to resolve complex issues
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Confident in interacting with senior management across the State Street organization.
- Self motivated and able to work both independently and in a team.
