Fund Accounting Oversight (NAV’s) – Prestigious & Innovative Asset Manager recruitment
The Opportunity:
• New opportunity to join a hugely reputable asset manager going through a significant period of expansion of change
• This change and growth will potentially lead to opportunities for career advancement / development
• Working within a small team, the duties and responsibilities within the role are significant and will suit somebody who can work on their own initiative
• Initially this role will be focused on the effective oversight of the NAV / Fund Accounting process for a range of 7 hedge funds (range of investment strategies), expanding over time to incorporate long-only mutual funds and multi-manager funds, interacting with all external suppliers (Prime Broker, Back Office, Third Party Administrator, Transfer Agent and Trustee) and internal teams to ensure a timely and accurate provision of estimated and confirmed net asset values
- Other specific duties will include: Daily NAV monitoring and review / sign off; review weekly estimate and monthly final NAV calculations; sign-off on NAV calculation as appropriate (pricing, completeness of records, calculation of fees and charges, relative performance); resolve queries with TPA within required timeframes for release of NAV – confirming any written queries with verbal contact to expedite resolution; calculate the required share class hedging transactions; calculate and distribute daily Hedge Fund indicative returns; ensure all fund accruals are applied correctly; oversee yield, dilution, distribution, TER and net fund income calculations
• Due to the current / forthcoming developments within the business, there will be plenty of opportunity to assist with project initiatives outside of the business as usual (BAU) work
• Exposure to a wide range of investment strategies and asset classes
Your Experience:
• First and foremost you will have a very strong understanding of how a net asset value (NAV) is calculated
• The likelihood is that you will either be working within a NAV oversight role within an asset manager, or, working at a third party administrator (TPA), concerned with the calculation of NAV’s from the “other side of the fence”
• Attention to detail is essential, as is a very strong appreciation of controls / KPI’s / SLA’s
• If you have experience of calculating NAV’s across hedge funds that would be helpful but not essential – exposure to a wide range of asset classes / derivatives will be important
• You will experience of resolving issues both internally and externally, with the proven ability to build effective relationships with relevant stakeholders including fund managers
• A can-do attitude
• You will be a career-minded individual looking for not just a “business as usual” role – experience of actively assisting with projects would be useful
• IMC qualified or similar
