Team DescriptionThis role is part of the WSS Platform team which is responsible for delivering all changes to Platforms across WSS. Within this team there are product aligned towers, and this role will specifically be to lead the Americas Fund Accounting tower. The scope of delivery for this team includes, but is not limited to, platform strategy and development, client enhancements and regulatory change.
Job DescriptionThis role will be to lead and manage the Americas Fund Accounting Platform Team within the Platform organisation.
This is a new team which the incumbent will need to structure and build-out over time.
The team are responsible for delivering all accounting, administration and reporting projects including both technology and non technology projects.
The projects will include platform change, operational change, regulatory change and client driven change.
The team is currently rolling out the use of 'Agile' methodology and the successful candidate in this role will need to be an advocate and leader in the Agile Transformation Program to support the successful roll out of this program.
As this is a new role within our organisation, the role will require a significant level of coordination and influence across associated teams including Product, Operations, Technology, Client Services and Relationship Management in order to build the function and evolve it as required.
A key element of this role will be linking in with broader GFS initiatives such as PMO, Implementation Working Group and the Agile Transformation Program to ensure Americas Accounting is at the forefront of driving improvements and best practice.
The accounting platform team is responsible for gathering all change requests and for the prioritisation, scheduling, reporting and financial tracking for all accounting change. The incumbent has ultimate responsibility for the planning and management of the accounting investment spend and overall compliance with the annual budget.
The individual selected to fill this role will have ultimate accountability for the delivery of all change and, as such, will be responsible for communicating with and management of senior executives to ensure all stakeholders are fully updated on the status of accounting change, escalation occurs in a timely and clear fashion and that management are given the opportunity to guide prioritization and assist with the removal of barriers to delivery.Key Responsibilities:
Primary responsibility for delivery of all change across the Americas Accounting platform.Develop a platform strategy that will reduce cost and improve our offering.Additional responsibility to engage with other regions for change that extends beyond the Americas (e.g. Europe and Australia).Effective prioritisation, tracking and reporting on all Americas Accounting projects.Line management, including all areas of staff development, training and talent management.Perform a skills assessment of current team capability against 2012 accounting delivery agenda and establish and implement optimum operating model to support this portfolio.Financial planning and management of the accounting II/discretionary budget and headcount.Stakeholder management and reporting, including management of a matrix reporting line to accounting senior management.Formulate the Americas Accounting strategy as part of the global strategy and execution of the delivery of the strategy.Definition, implementation and ongoing management of Accounting change governance model.Leadership of Agile rollout within Americas Accounting and the transformation of existing projects to the new methodology. Represent Americas Accounting within the Agile Transformation Programme. Enhance project management procedures and practice to adapt to new methodology.Representation of Americas Accounting at Project Management Best Practice forums and working groups.Implementation of the new model for client implementations as defined by the Implementation Working Group recommendations.
