Fund Accounting – Senior / Team Leader recruitment
My client has continued to grow and develop their business over the last year and as a result they have a need for qualified fund / statutory accountants at both senior and Team Leader level. You must either be a qualified accountant or working towards a qualification in order to be considered for this role and you must have eligibility to work in the UK.
The role involves a number of important responsibilities including:
• Manage a team of around 10 staff including 2-3 Senior Accountants (Team Leader role only);
• Reporting deliverables for c.30 funds in accordance with agreed client service level agreement, associated KPI targets and regulatory requirements (Team Leader role only);
• Year end and interim financial statements;
• Monthly reconciliation control packs;
• Management service charge, distribution and yield calculations;
• Trustee packs, ONS Returns, Daily income checks, Cash breaks, Expense analysis;
• Training and development of team members;
• Timely escalation of any issues to Manager;
• Internal communication with Clients, Auditors, Trustees, Custodians and other departments;
• Plan and manage all Client, Audit, Trustee and Regulatory visits;
• Error reporting and implementation of preventative actions;
• Execution of any change activity including the planning and implementation of fund launches, mergers and liquidations;
• Ensure compliance with the Internal Control Framework (Audit Assurance Framework (AAF);
• Ensure all significant activities are documented in procedure notes and these are kept up-to-date and recorded on the procedures note database;
• Training and development of team members (Team Leader role only).
With a role of this nature the following person profile would be an ideal fit:
- Holds or working towards a professional accountancy qualification;
- Experience of running a team - recruitment through to performance management (Team Leader role only);
- Experience of statutory accounting / fund accounting;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Team building and development skills;
- Delegation skills;
- Good problem solving skills;
- Time management and planning skills;
- Eligibility to work in the UK;
- Exposure to UK-GAAP would be a strong advantage.
