Purpose Of Role:
Fund Accountants are responsible for the investment accounts for Linked and Non Linked funds, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with regulatory, statutory and policy conditions.
Specific Duties:
Management of Team Deliverables
- Oversee the preparation of the monthly linked and non-linked fund accounts by the off-shore accounts team.
- Liaison with the client on all matters, queries and issues
- Prepare additional quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
- Understand, follow and update procedures/checklists
- Ensure that all accounting events are captured
- Identify and implement process and product improvements, documenting where necessary
- Produce fund oversight reports
- Complete daily general ledger reconciliations
Communication
- Communicate effectively with colleagues from different locations through formalised reporting and liaison on ad hoc matters
- Ensure effective logging and resolution of enquiries and liaise with appropriate parties to resolve/ escalate queries / problems within agreed timescales
- Ensure the line manager and others, as appropriate, are kept aware of all issues/problems/queries/work in progress that may impact upon the quality of service being given
Training and Personal Development
- Take responsibility for personal development and training
- Work with the Line Manager to identify objectives at the start of each year and keep them up to date
- Actively participate in the appraisal process by completing a self-evaluation and suggesting appropriate development
Other
- Be involved in departmental ad-hoc projects

Specific Qualifications / Skills:
- A recognized accountancy qualification is desirable
- Numeracy / Literacy skills
- Good Understanding of fund administration
- Experience of general ledger reconciliations
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of MCH
- Strong Excel skills
- VBA experience desirable

Level Of Education:
- University Graduate or equivalent
- Obtained or studying towards obtaining a professional accountancy qualification
- Obtained or Studying towards IAQs
Previous Level Of Experience:
Previous experience of accounting for unit trusts, OEIC's or Life and Pension investment schemes desirable
