Fund Analyst recruitment
The role offers excellent potential for development; the successful candidate will be expected to help grow the business and will have the opportunity to be involved in developing a wide range of consultancy services as well as having the chance to take on significant amounts of responsibility within the research team. The position is full-time (37½ hours) and would initially be based at the Woking office before migrating to the London office.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Write insightful and concise analysis and research on Funds, Fund Managers and Fund Groups to a range of audiences from retail investors up to professional advisers;
- Interview and question fund managers and senior industry professionals;
- Perform in-depth quantitative analysis to identify areas of interest worthy of further research;
- Oversee recommended funds list and model portfolios using quantitative governance tools, flagging up possible areas of concern and further analysis;
- Construct opinions on funds to be included on short lists that can be backed up with sound, well reasoned evidence based arguments.
Key Skills
- Graduate from a top university with a degree in relevant subject;
- 2-3 years experience as a fund analyst, preferably at a wealth manager or fund research house;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to adjust writing style and tone to suit audiences with different levels of understanding;
- Excellent grasp of the fund industry and the investment process and the relationship between the two.
- Capable of indentifying key features of a fund that will be relevant to specific investor types;
- Strong grasp of quantitative and qualitative fund analysis;
- Ability to translate ratio and performance data into meaningful insights about a fund;
- Confident at questioning fund managers and senior industry figures and ability to construct intelligent and insightful questions based on fund data;
- Excellent client facing skills.
